praise. dead->alive. red raiders

cheerios. glass of OJ. His spirit moving. journal. this results in a blog post. man God has been moving in my life big time. He's helping me set my eyes completely on the cross and that message is changing everything. It reminds me the power of the gospel everyday. He's opening doors I never dreamed. He's preparing the way to make His name to be praised.

so here's a few thoughts from all this stirring and changing. totally understand if you take one at a time. take a break, grab a sonic drink (raspberry limeade, cause they're the beest!) then hit the next one. here we gooo!!

1. Praise- in and for all things.
the writer of 1 Thessalonians says, "Give thanks in ALL circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" Be encouraged if you're trying to figure out His will. well, you can start here, cause its pretty clear. Give thanks in all circumstances. this is a game changer fo sho (am I allowed to say that? lol) when we begin to praise His in all things and for all things, the focus and concern of heart begins to change. suddenly we're not looking at ourselves, we're looking at Him. Seeing Him for who He truly is. good, faithful and much more. Maybe you've got a circumstance that you don't really like, don't understand, feel stuck in. whatever. I know I've got junk like that. truth is He's is working in us through that. therefore, we have to praise Him for it. I mean seriously. in james it says, consider it pure joy. pure joy. pure joy. when you face trials of many kinds. knowing that it is the testing of your faith, producing perseverance! thats tight. you catching this?! we have to praise Him for those trials, struggles, sticky, tough stuck spots. because He's using that to work and sanctify us. and the idea that the Creator, author of salvation would want to see me in and through those things in order to sanctify me blows my mind. therefore today, I'm praising Him in and for all things.

2a. (warning!! if you can't handle the thought of bodies, dead ones, medical stuff. read with precaution!!)

ok so here's the picture. Gross anatomy lab. first day. whole bodies, dead. just chillin in the tank. literally cause its freezing in that place. you open the tank and whhew it smells lovely. nice little formula to keep things moist. you raise those bodies up, praying you don't pass out. and there they are. hair, face and all. but DEAD. dead as a a door nail. cold bodies. lifeless. breathless. hopeless. they ain't going anywhere. they're just bodies. the skin has lost that warm feeling. the joints are tight. the blood in the veins and arteries are dry. thats exactly where we were. BUT! God demonstrates His love in this while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! we were dead. gone-ers. just like those bodies in tanks. no hope, destined for nothing but the grave. He made a way though! by the blood of Jesus, we have life. Jimmy Needham puts it this way- "we weren't just damaged, we fell dead at the fall." you see we weren't drowning. we weren't hanging out on life-support. nope we were dead sinners, in our transgressions. i know im wearing this out, but i think we miss this sometimes. we were totally gone! Dead. Dead. Dead. til we receive His grace. salvation. by that alone, we have Life!! He breathes life into us! and then we're called to live abundantly! you see He called us out of death to LIFE! hallelujah. do a little boogie, because believer, my friend you are ALIVE and you were once DEAD!!

2b.
On that same picture. I couldn't help but think about those dead bodies and Jesus saying, "Lazurus come forth" holy moley. I think if someone came in and said that in our lab and somebody got up and starting walking around. I'm pretty sure I'd pass out. His power has and still truly overcomes death. Yes!

tres! (mainly just because I feel weird leaving things off on a 2.)
FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!! and that makes my heart super happy! :) wreck em tech!
