thanksgiving pics are comin soon. i promise. nothin special fancy, just the wonderful fam.
ok so I've been reading radical by david platt. which i highly highly recommend. good stuff. truth. its really cool, because it expresses and lines up with the direction that He's been guiding my heart. the way He's leading me. and how He's changing me. Platt talks a lot about the gospel. who does the word say Jesus is. and who we twist and create Him to be. how everything we have and are should be used for the glory of God. I'm allowing Him to examine and search my heart to show me and teach me what that looks like in my life. even more than what He's already revealed. its about people. hearts. lives. being intentional. and making disciples, whatever the cost. I'm learning and growing.
so tonight i had a project to finish up. a partner project. it took us about 2 hours to finish then we just talked for another hour or so. not a hard core theology debate or an in depth lesson about the history or contexts of scripture. nope just a heart to heart about struggles, past, present and future. talks about the resources He's given, to be used for His glory. words like joy and love. it was fruitful. it was simple. lots of listening. and somehow in the moment learning to love and be genuine like Jesus was. Jesus listened to the woman at the well before He told her the truth. He knew her, her past and her struggles. Jesus listened to the cries of those needing to be healed. He listened to the question of Nicodemus.
'be quick to listen. slow to speak. slow to anger'
so sit. sip on some starbucks skinny cinnamon dolce latte with white mocha cause its the best. and most of all listen. know the hearts of those He's placed around you. listen so you can know their needs. desires. so you can pray and reveal His glory in their very midst. evident for them and others to see
side note: with the whole starbucks thing. i was waiting on my drink and the barista (which i wanna be someday!) said white mocha, i started towards the bar. then he said with 6! pumps! 6!!! i stopped. dropped my jaw. 'that's NOT mine' geez no wonder the US has such a diabetes problem. seriously people easy on the sugars!
so drop the sugars. listen. know the hurts, needs, desires, delights, so He might use you to reveal His glory. thats the plan.
